Updates on Animal Racing Game

Some updates on my animal racing game characters. I made new pairings now just based on possums because my last set was too wide. I really like the Bonnie and Clyde idea as well as my Professor Frankenstein and the Evil Knievel pairings. I ended up choosing Frankenstein and Igor and now I have to make trucks for them.

A few ideations on the trucks for my pairings.

Animals & Trucks

Some new updates to what I've been working on since last time. Our new assignment is a game project. We have to create a pair of California native animals to be the participant of a 4WD lifted-pimped out-monster powered- Trucks. One of the character is the driver and the other is the gunners. The aim is to create something Mario-kart like; focusing more on the vehicle design and the relationship between the character and the car.

1980s New York Flower Shop

Some Final pages from the New York City project from my Advanced Illustration Class. It was a lot of learning and I had a lot of fun also doing the project. Definitely need to work on my Environment and work on my volumes and light.

New York Project - Character

I went missing there for a few weeks, but I was gone for a good  reason. We're starting on a new project for our Advanced Illustration class. It's based on a flower shop in 80's New York. It's been a lot of fun trying to bring the feel of the time and culture of New York in the 80's. Here are some initial character designs for the Flower Shop Owner.

Here's the second week of ideations. Focusing more on portraying the feeling of a flower shop owner at first glance. I added flower textile patterns from the 80's as well; to add more of an indication of the time and culture.

Here's what I chose to go forward with to the final. Tiny Grandma Rosie! I need to work on this some more. Hopefully it will look more finished and defined when I am done.

Here's a really rough Maya Model I made to make sure that the lights and volumes are correct.
Here's the first pass of the Render using the maya model as an example.
Next week is the final! Almost done - but need to work super hard to make it look better!

Final pages for Zipa project.

This Tuesday was the final due date for the Zipa project that we've been working on for our advanced illustration class. While i was happy with the character i did, the environment needs much much more work.I should really work on it some more. But I'm really excited to work on the new project too!

Day #14 : your favorite book character.
One of the books i recently read and liked, has an awkward lanky boy as death's ill fitting apprentice.

Character designs: Artie, Homer, Johannah and Sleppy

Here's some character designs for the summer project i'm working on with a few awesome friends from San Jose State. The story is about an abused child who has a drunkard for a father. This child is saved only from retreating to his imagination. I think it'll be really fun to animate. I'm looking forward to see this project finished!! xDD hopefully that time will come soon!!

Still very rough though. I'll update soon with more newer things done yesterday!!
